Highway 20 crash investigation continues

MOORLAND — State troopers continue to investigate a Thursday evening pileup on U.S. Highway 20 west of Fort Dodge.

It was reported at 5:27 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near Hayes Avenue.

Lt. Aaron Smidt of the Iowa State Patrol said two crashes occurred in the same area within a short time.

Two people were taken from the scene by ambulance.

One of the vehicles was a semitrailer that ended up in the ditch on the south side of the highway, leaving its load of hay bales scattered about.
