Badger man sentenced

in child porn case

A Badger man will spend four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a child pornography charge.

Kenneth Brown, 60, was sentenced on Friday following a July 22 guilty plea to one count of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.

Prosecutors said that between early May 2023 and April 3, 2024, Brown possessed child pornography. A tip to law enforcement indicated that 32 files of child pornography had been uploaded to the internet from Brown’s cell phone.

During an examination of the phone, 27 videos and 28 images of child pornography were discovered, according to the Attorney’s Office. The material included sadistic and masochistic conduct, plus prepubescent children and toddlers.

U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand sentenced Brown to 48 months in prison.

Strand also ordered him to pay $1,100 in fines and $9,000 in restitution to the child victims.

Brown remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service awaiting transfer to a federal prison.

The case against Brown was investigated by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
