FD man faces robbery charge
A Fort Dodge man has been charged with hitting a woman and robbing her, according to court records.
Tanner L. Vandivier. 33, of 2216 Sixth Ave. N., has been charged with second degree robbery. According to the criminal complaint filed against him, at about 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, he went to a woman’s residence in the 900 block of Third Avenue North. While there, he grabbed her wrist and punched her in the right side, officers wrote in the complaint. Then he took $70 from the woman.
He was arrested early Tuesday in the 1600 block of First Avenue North and made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Tuesday morning.
Magistrate William Habhab scheduled a preliminary hearing for Nov. 25. He also issued an order forbidding Vandivier from having any contact with the woman he is accused of robbing.
Bond for Vandivier was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
He also faces a charge of fifth degree criminal mischief for a Nov. 13 incident in which he is accused of breaking a door at a residence in the 200 block of South Sixth Street. Court action on that case was postponed for 180 days.
