FD man pleads guilty to sexual offenses
A Fort Dodge man is destined for federal prison on sexual exploitation and child pornography charges.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa reported that Pry’Shayn Mosley, 20, exploited several minors and distributed child pornography to children.
The Attorney’s Office stated that he pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of distribution of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors said that between May 2022 and October 2022, Mosley enticed two minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct so that he could produce visual depictions of it.
Mosley also admitted to possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material to other people including children, prosecutors said.
When a search warrant was conducted at Mosley’s home, law enforcement officers seized several electronic devices, marijuana, drug distribution items, cash and two loaded firearms. Prosecutors said that while the search was underway, Mosley asked a juvenile in the residence to retrieve a package containing cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl and attempt to get rid of it. Officers stopped the juvenile before he could dispose of the drugs.
Mosley remains in the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service pending sentencing. He faces a maximum of 30 years in federal prison.
The case was investigated by the Fort Dodge Police Department and Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
Man gets federal prison time for firearms offense
A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to about four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a firearms offense, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
Jammonttay Coleman, 36, was sentenced on Thursday to 57 months in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand.
He pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The charge results from an Aug. 25, 2024, incident in which Fort Dodge police stopped Coleman’s 2006 Mercury Mountaineer for speeding through a construction zone in the 400 block of Kenyon Road.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, officers could smell marijuana coming from his vehicle. When he got out of the vehicle, a bag of marijauna fell out. Officers then searched the vehicle and found a stolen 9 mm pistol with a large capacity magazine that had been reported stolen in July 2024 in Otho .
He was initially arrested on these state charges: dominion or control of a firearm by a felon, two counts of trafficking in stolen weapons and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, third or subsequent offense. The case against him was later transferred to federal court.
Coleman remains in the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service, awaiting transfer to a federal prison.
