In the criminal complaint filed against him, police wrote that Bierwag sexually abused a child at least six times between Sept. 3, 2024, and Wednesday.

Bierwag made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning.

Habhab set Bierwag’s bond at $50,000 cash only.

Badger man faces kidnapping charge

ROCKWELL CITY — A Badger man remains free awaiting trial on accusations that he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman.

Anthony E. Bacon, 49, was arrested by Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies and charged with first degree kidnapping.

Deputies wrote in criminal complaints that on Sept. 8, Bacon convinced a woman to get into his 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, He then locked the doors to the vehicle and drove to another location, where, deputies wrote, he forced the woman to lay face down on the truck’s back seat and he sexually assaulted her.

According to the criminal complaint, Bacon took a photo of the sexual assault and sent it to multiple people via text message.

When Bacon made his initial appearance in court on Sept. 11, Magistrate A. Eric Neu ordered him to be jailed without bond. He also issued an order prohibiting Bacon from having any contact with the woman.

However, on Sept. 16 Neu approved a proposal submitted by Calhoun County Attorney Ben Smith and defense attorney Christopher Kragnes Sr., that resulted in Bacon being freed from the Carroll County Jail on a promise to appear for future court dates.
