Man arrested for attacking woman, stealing phone

A man has been arrested for reportedly attacking a woman and stealing her phone, according to court records.

Otis C. Foy, 54, of 106 N. 10th St., has been charged with second degree robbery and assault.

According to criminal complaints filed against him by Fort Dodge police, Foy attacked a woman at 12:11 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of First Avenue North, “slamming her to the ground.” Officers wrote that the woman suffered a cut. They also reported that he took the woman’s phone.

Foy made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the robbery charge.

Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston set his bond at $10,000 cash only. She also issued an order prohibiting him from having any contact with the woman.

Court action on the assault charge was postponed for 180 days.
