More charges filed in sex abuse case
Criminal charges continue to pile up for a Fort Dodge man jailed for alleged sexual offenses.
Christopher J. Novencido, 44, made his initial appearance in Webster County Magsitrate Court Friday on charges of second degree sexual abuse and incest.
According to the criminal complaints filed against him, he is accused of abusing a child between September 2011 and September 2012. A preliminary hearing was set for May 9.
On Wednesday, he appeared in Magistrate Court on charges of second degree sexual abuse and incest. A May 9 preliminary hearing is scheduled on those charges also.
In early April, he was charged with nine counts of second degree sexual abuse, nine counts of incest and two counts of invasion of privacy. He pleaded not guilty to those charges and is scheduled to go on trial June 17.
He also faces two counts of tampering with a witness, because investigators say he made phone calls from the Webster County Jail in which he suggested that the individual police described as the victim of the incidents could drop the charges.
