Man charged with additional sex crimes
A man being held in the Webster County Jail on multiple sex offenses has been charged with two more similar crimes.
Court records show prosecutors filed one additional charge of second degree sexual abuse and one additional charge of incest against Christopher J. Novencido. 44, of Fort Dodge.
In criminal complaints filed against him, Fort Dodge police allege that he sexually abused a child in July 2021.
He made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning on those charges.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 9. An order prohibiting him from having any contact with the child was also issued.
In early April, he was arrested by Fort Dodge police and charged with nine counts of second degree sexual abuse, nine counts of incest and two counts of invasion of privacy.
Novencido pleaded not guilty to those charges, and is scheduled to go on trial June 17.
He also faces two counts of tampering with a witness, because investigators say he made phone calls from the jail in which he suggested that the individual police described as the victim of the incidents could drop the charges.
