with stealing booster

club money

ALGONA — A woman has been arrested and charged with stealing some of the money generated at a concession stand operated by a sports booster club.

Erin Fraker, 41, of Bancroft, was arrested Thursday and charged with second degree theft, according to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department

She is accused of taking money from the North Union Sports Booster Club concession stand receipts generated during the 2023 summer baseball season, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

Members of the booster club’s board filed a complaint with the Sheriff’s Department about missing money on Nov. 10. The person responsible for the summer concession proceeds had failed to provide proof of deposits that were estimated at $5,820, deputies reported. A lengthy investigation began after the complaint was received.

Bancroft police assisted sheriff’s deputies.

The North Union Sports Booster Club is a parent-operated entity that supports athletic programs. It has its own board of directors and is not under the authority of the North Union Community School District.
