Man arrested in bomb threat incident

A man has been arrested and charged with making a bomb threat against a Fort Dodge dental clinic, according to court records. Robert D. Ulicki, 75, of Lehigh, was charged by Fort Dodge police with threat, explosive or incendiary device and first-degree harassment. In criminal complaints filed against Ulicki, police wrote, “Defendant mentioned a pipe bomb being placed at Aspen Dental. A second man has been arrested in connection with a July 4 burglary in which a woman was beaten with a bat or club. John C. Schlack, 28, of 106 N. 10th St., was arrested by Fort Dodge police on Monday. He faces charges of first-degree burglary and violation of parole, according to court records. A man has been arrested for reportedly breaking into a Fort Dodge apartment and restraining the resident while someone else beat her with a bat or club, according to court records. David S. Dayton, 39, 1609 12th Ave. S.W., has been charged with first-degree burglary, court records indicate. FD City Council to consider bus contract

Buses and a bond issue will be on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council tonight. The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. During the meeting, the council will consider a new contract with MIDAS Council of Governments for operation of Dodger Area Rapid Transit (DART) buses. That contract includes increases in the fares that passengers will pay to ride the buses. For example, a monthly bus pass for an adult will rise from $35 to $37. IowaWORKS to move to temporary offices

The IowaWORKS staff assigned to the Fort Dodge office will be working from a series of temporary locations beginning on Friday. The office on the Iowa Central Community College campus will not be used after Thursday due to circumstances surrounding its lease, according to an announcement from IowaWORKS. Until a new permanent office is set up, the staff will be working from these temporary offices through August: Fort Dodge — Department of Health and Human Services Building, 330 First Ave. N., 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. RAGBRAI to pass through Kossuth County

SWEA CITY — RAGBRAI riders will pass through northern Kossuth County on Tuesday. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who will be traveling through that area to find an alternate route if possible.
