A Fort Dodge man is accused of deliberately ramming his vehicle into another one during a Thursday evening incident.
In criminal complaints filed against Kevin L. Tessandori, Fort Dodge police wrote that he "used his vehicle as a weapon to collide with the victim's vehicle as she was trying to get away from him."
According to court records, Tessandori, 53, is charged with:
• Assault while displaying a dangerous weapon
• Child endangerment
• Operating while under the influence, first offense
Police reported that at about 7 p.m. Thursday Tessandori drove his 2017 Ford Explorer into another vehicle occupied by a woman and a boy in the 200 block of North 25th Street. He did that more than once, police reported.
Criminal complaints listed his blood alcohol content in a preliminary breath test at .175. In Iowa, a person is presumed to be drunk if they have a blood alcohol content of .08.
Tessandori was arrested Thursday night and made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday morning. Magistrate William H. Habhab set bond for him at $4,000 cash only. He also scheduled an Aug. 10 preliminary hearing on the charges.
Habhab issued an order prohibiting Tessandori from having any contact with the woman and child he is accused of attacking.
