FD City Council to consider bus contract

Buses and a bond issue will be on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council tonight.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

During the meeting, the council will consider a new contract with MIDAS Council of Governments for operation of Dodger Area Rapid Transit (DART) buses. That contract includes increases in the fares that passengers will pay to ride the buses. For example, a monthly bus pass for an adult will rise from $35 to $37. The daily fare for an adult will rise from $1.50 to $1.75.

The council will also consider another procedural move toward borrowing $10,650,000 to pay for various projects and major purchases.

Starting at $4.94/week.
