A plan to convert a long stretch of North 15th Street into a three lane road will be the subject of a public information meeting Tuesday.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

The proposed project would include 15th Street between First Avenue North and 20th Avenue North. That section is now a four-lane road, with two lanes of traffic going in each direction.

The proposal would change that section of road to three lanes. If completed, the street would have one northbound lane, one southbound lane and a center lane for vehicles turning left.

The project would also include rebuilding 15th Street between First and Third avenues north, pavement repairs, new traffic signals, plus new storm sewers and water mains.
