No injuries in storage building fire near Moorland

MOORLAND — A structure fire in rural Moorland Sunday was likely caused by electrical issues of a side-by-side vehicle that was being worked on, according to Moorland Firefighter Brad Hoffman.

According to Hoffman, Moorland Fire Department was dispatched to 2136 Hayes Ave. on Sunday afternoon when a steel storage building caught fire. He said the property owner had been inside the building working on a side-by-side when he left for a few minutes. When the property owner returned, the side-by-side began smoking and a fire was starting. The fire quickly spread to the woodworking equipment and materials that were inside the building, Hoffman said.

No injuries were reported.

The Callender and Barnum fire departments also assisted.
