Three new firefighters have been hired in Fort Dodge to fill vacancies.
They are:
• Gavin Hills, a former volunteer firefighter from West Branch who earned an associate degree in fire science from Des Moines Area Community College
• Connor Hanson, a former volunteer firefighter from Webster City who is in the emergency medical technician program at Iowa Central Community College. He is the son of police Capt. Steve Hanson.
• Joe Sherman, who earned an associate degree in fire science from Iowa Central Community College and was a volunteer EMT in his hometown in Illinois.
