Supervisors cancel TextMyGov contract

The Webster County Board of Supervisors voted to cancel the county’s contract with TextMyGov, a service that uses smart texting technology to help connect residents with their local governments.

The decision to cancel the contract was due to the service not being used much by residents and the board felt it wasn’t a good use of county funds to continue, Chairwoman Niki Conrad said.

According to the invoice sent to the county from TextMyGov, continuing the contract would cost the county $11,000 from November 2023 through October 2024.

This contract cancellation only affects the county’s contract with the service. It does not affect the contract the city of Fort Dodge has with TextMyGov.

Starting at $4.94/week.
