A Fort Dodge man was killed Tuesday morning when the ATV he was riding on rolled.

According to Webster County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derek Christie, 32-year-old Brandon Stewart was riding ATVs with friends in what is known as the “South Woods,” near South 28th Street and 15th Avenue South. Christie said there was a portion of the trail that appeared to have been washed out from recent rains and when Stewart tried to go around it, he lost control and rolled the vehicle. Stewart did not have any passengers on the ATV, the chief deputy said.

The accident was reported to the Webster County Telecommunications Center at 10:15 a.m. According to Christie, Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene.
