Water main contract awarded

The Fort Dodge City Council on Monday approved a contract for a water main connection to the Georgia-Pacific plant south of town.

The council hired Friday Excavation LLC, of Lorimor, to do the job at a cost of $317,647.

The company will reimburse the city for all the expenses of building the new water main.

Other bidders for the job were Nels Pederson Co. Inc., Badger $324,594; Rasch Construction Inc., Fort Dodge, $325,779; GM Contracting Inc., Lake Crystal, Minnesota, $329,358.05; J & K Contracting LLC, Urbandale, $335,00; Riley-Armstrong Plumbing & Heating Inc., Fort Dodge, $409,995.68; JQ Construction, Washburn, $459,704; and Local Boring Co., Solon, $516,658.
