Doebel to be principal at Spencer HS
Kirsten Doebel, the director of secondary education for the Fort Dodge Community School District, will be leaving to take the top job at Spencer High School.
The Spencer Community School District announced on Facebook on Wednesday that Doebel was selected to be the principal at SHS. She will begin July 1.
“I feel so honored to have been chosen as the next principal at Spencer High School,” Doebel said in a release from SCSD. “I look forward to joining the team and serving the students, staff and families in Spencer.”
Doebel has served as the FDCSD director of secondary education since the position was created in 2018. Prior to that, she was an instructional coach in the district, providing leadership to other teachers. She has been with the FDCSD since 2014.
Doebel holds a master’s degree from Southwest Minnesota State and a doctoral degree from the University of South Dakota. She is also a former high school social studies teacher.
