Two St. Edmond Catholic School seniors were among 50 students statewide who were selected to receive a $1,000 college scholarship from the nonprofit Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corp.
Aaron Lursen and Tyler McDowell will receive the scholarships.
According to a release from the ISLLC, more than 1,000 Iowa students completed two online financial literacy tools to understand financial planning for college expenses in order to qualify for monthly drawings for the scholarships.
According to the ISLLC, between 8-12 percent of Iowa's high school seniors annually participate in the college financial literacy program, which was introduced in 2014.
