Clean Laundry in Fort Dodge is offering a chance to turn dirty clothes into financial support for the local YWCA.

On Wednesday, all of the proceeds generated by the laundromat at 2819 Third Ave. S. will be donated to the YWCA for its clinically managed residential treatment program for women and women with children.

Donations will also be accepted.

Clean Laundry will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day.

The event is the first Clean For A Cause day that Clean Laundry has scheduled for Fort Dodge.

“You don’t need to be a typical user of laundromats to support this cause,” Phil Akin, co-founder of Clean Laundry, said in a written statement. “Everyone can come out and wash large items that don’t fit into regular machines like bedding, pillows and dog beds.”

“We are excited to have this partnership with YWCA and be able to better support the community through Clean For A Cause,” he added.

Clean For A Cause is an event-based donation in which 100 percent of the proceeds from the laundromat on the day of the event go to a nonprofit organization in the community.
