Man found safe following bridge search
A suicidal male that was reported to be on the Karl King Bridge on Wednesday and sparked some concern he may have jumped from the bridge was found safe, according to Fort Dodge Police Department Capt. Ryan Gruenberg.
The FDPD and Fort Dodge Fire Department spent more than an hour searching the area below the bridge — including Duck Island and the Des Moines River — for any signs of the man, and none were found at the time.
According to Gruenberg, the male was located safe later Wednesday night, and taken to the Emergency Room at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.
