Messenger staff wins INA awards
The work of journalists on the staff of The Messenger has been recognized by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
These awards were presented recently during the association’s meeting in Des Moines:
• Kelby Wingert, Chad Thompson and Michaela Frerichs received first place for Best Use of Social Media.
• Britt Kudla received first place for Best Sports Feature Photo.
• Sports Editor Eric Pratt, Assistant Sports Editor Chris Johnson, Dana Becker and Britt Kudla received third place for Best Sports Section.
• Chad Thompson received third place for Coverage of Business
• Kelby Wingert received third place for Best Breaking News Photo.
