Mental wellness conversation is Oct. 22

A mental wellness conversation will be held Oct. 22 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 838 N. 25th St.

The free workshop will feature mental health experts who will speak on a variety of topics.

The workshop is a collaboration between Iowa State University Extension and Outreach — Webster County, Trinity United Methodist Church, Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, UnityPoint Health Berryhill Center and Webster/Calhoun Youth Wellness Coalition.

The event begins at 9 a.m with a welcome and mental health self-assessment.

Lyndsey Fennelly, advocate for mental health, will speak on her walk with mental health at 9:15 a.m.

At 10:15 a.m., Kim Bodholdt, social-emotional behavioral health consultant for Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency, will hold a mental health discussion.

At 11 a.m., Demi Johnson, behaviorial health program specialist with ISU Extension, will speak about suicide prevention gatekeeper training.

Lunch and a mental health resources overview will start at 12:30 p.m. Jennifer Pullen, executive director of Berryhill, will talk about behavioral health urgent care at 1:15 p.m.

Closing remarks will be offered at 2 p.m. Mental health resource bags will be provided to all attendees.
