WCHD to host Pfizer booster clinic Wednesday

The Webster County Health Department will be hosting a booster clinic for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for certain individuals on Wednesday.

The clinic will be held at the Iowa Central Community College East Campus from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Residents are asked to bring their COVID-19 vaccination card with them to the drive-thru clinic. Individuals must have received their second Pfizer vaccine at least six months prior.

The booster doses are available for adults ages 65 and older as well as individuals of specific at-risk groups.

The following individuals and specific at-risk groups qualify for a booster dose:

• Individuals 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings

• Individuals 50-64 years old with underlying medical conditions

• Individuals 18-49 years old with underlying medical conditions based on their individual benefits and risks

• Individuals 18-64 years old who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting.

The Pfizer booster dose is available by appointment only and starting Wednesday. To schedule an appointment, call WCHD at 515-573-4107 or book an appointment online at webstercountyia.gov.
