Boil advisory ssued for part of Fort Dodge

Residents in a small portion of Fort Dodge are advised to boil their tap water until further notice.

The Public Works Department issued the boil advisory on Thursday after a water main break caused the loss of water pressure in an area near Loomis Park on Wednesday.

The area affected is North Seventh Street north of Loomis Park, including Miller Drive, and the 700 block of 28th Avenue North. Customers in other areas of Fort Dodge are not affected and do not need to boil their water.

Customers should use boiled water that has cooled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing produce, preparing food and making ice. Water given to pets should also be boiled and cooled.

The boil advisory will remain in effect until the situation is corrected. Affected customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
