FD woman charged with evasion after stealing rock

Lindsey Ebner

A Fort Dodge woman picked up a few misdemeanor charges Tuesday after Fort Dodge Police say she stole a rock before leading police on a chase.

Fort Dodge Police responded to the 10 block of S. 23rd Street for report of a burglary in progress at a landscaping business between about 10 and 11:15 p.m.

There, one lieutenant said the suspect, Lindsey Ebner, 31, of Fort Dodge, was attempting to flee. Several officers pursued her 2001 Ford Windstar, exceeding the speed limit by 25 mph at times before coming to a stop in the county on Baxter Avenue.

The value of the stone stolen, which police said they found in the defendant’s vehicle, was under $300.

Ebner is charged with eluding and driving while barred, aggravated misdemeanors; fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor; and speeding.
