Faiferlick offers free women’s self-defense class for first-time students

Faiferlick Martial Arts is offering a free Brazilian jiu-jitsu self-defense class for women.

Women Empowered Self-Defense Kickoff Seminar is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Faiferlick Martial Arts gym, 567 S. 25th St. Ages 13 and up are invited to participate.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, participants are asked to bring a partner. No experience is necessary. The class is for first-time students only.

One participant will win a free Women Empowered Boot Camp, a $275 value. Must be present to win.

During the seminar, instructors will introduce some of the techniques from the 15-lesson program that will teach you how to neutralize the 20 most common attacks — ranging from having your hair grabbed to being pinned to the ground by a weapon-bearing assailant.
