Wireless service disrupted Wednesday night

The Webster County Law Enforcement 911 dispatch center reported that wireless callers experienced network issues Wednesday evening.

Those issues compromised customers’ ability to dial 911 and reach local public safety officials.

911 dispatch said if you are a calling from a wireless phone and need emergency services, if your 911 calls fails, please contact their non-emergency number. Non emergency line is 515-573-2323.

A spike in outages was reported to Verizon beginning at about 5:27 p.m. Wednesday night.

Wireless providers were aware of the issue and were working to resolve the problem.
