People Credit Union seeks public input for donations

Peoples Credit Union is seeking the public’s vote on charities to receive the institution’s Spark the Spirit of holiday giving.

Three local nonprofit organizations have been chosen for a chance to receive a part of $800 in donations.

The three nominated organizations are All Cultures Equal, Domestic/Sexual Assault Outreach Center and The Salvation Army.

The organization with the most votes will receive a $500 donation, the second highest vote will receive a $200 donation and the third highest vote will receive $100.

The public is invited to vote daily through Dec. 11 at www.peoples-credit-union.com/about/vote. The result will be announced on Dec. 14.

”2020 has been a tough year for everyone, especially our local nonprofits,” Jordan Hensley, chief executive officer and president of the credit union, said in a written statement. ”With cancelled events or virtual only fundraising their donations are definitely down. We are proud to demonstrate local support with our Spark the Spirit of holiday giving and hope others will follow our lead.”
