General election important dates announced

Oct. 5 — Absentee ballots will be mailed out.

Oct. 5 — First day to vote early in person at the Absentee Precinct located in the Department of Human Services building, 330 First Ave. N., Fort Dodge.

Oct. 19 — Worry-free postmark deadline for mail in voter registration.

Oct. 24 — Voter Preregistration deadline and deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail. Absentee Precinct open 8am to 5 p.m. for voter registration and Absentee Voting. Voters must use Election Day registration procedures to register to vote after this date.

Oct. 31 — Absentee Precinct open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for in person absentee voting.

Nov. 2 — Absentee Precinct open until 5pm, last day to vote in-person. Absentee Ballots must be postmarked by this date.

Nov. 3 — General Election Day Polls open 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. All voting must happen at Election Day Precinct Locations.
