Community Tap and Pizza will be fundraising to benefit children’s cancer research with each order this Friday.

Ten percent of all proceeds from dine-in, pick-up and delivery orders on Sept. 18 will be donated to Minneapolis-based Children’s Cancer Research Fund in honor of September, which is children’s cancer awareness month.

Live music will be playing on the deck Friday, where dine-in customers can enjoy their orders on socially distanced picnic tables, said owner Sally Hart.

“Every penny counts,” Hart said. “Research is very important.”

Hart honors her granddaughter, Evie Mueller, who passed away at age 4 in 2017 after a battle cancer that started at age 2.

The September fundraiser hopes to beat the $11,000 raised with the Journey of Hope steak fry in June, which also benefited cancer research.
