Webster County adds 24 new COVID-19 cases

Webster County Public Health reported 24 new COVID-19 cases between the end of Monday and Wednesday, bringing the county’s total to 847.

At the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, 331 of 354 positive cases have recovered. In the broader county, 95 of 493 cases remain active.

The cases fall into the following age categories:

• Child (age 0-17): 38

• Adult (age 18-40): 426

• Middle-aged adult (age 41-60): 260

• Older adult (age 61-80): 107

• Elderly adult (age 81+): 16

WCPH noted a continual rise in cases from close-contact gatherings, reminding residents to refrain from close contact with those they don’t regularly live with or have exposure to.
