Human trafficking awareness event is today
Walk to Speak Up! National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is 5:30 p.m. today at the northeast corner of the Crossroads Mall, across from Target, HyVee and Aldi. This family event is to bring awareness of human trafficking. Those participating are asked to wear blue and appropriate signs are welcome. A link will be provided for monetary donations to Operation Underground Railroad which is an organization that helps victims of human trafficking. In 2018, over half, 51.6 percent, of the criminal human trafficking cases active in the United States were sex trafficking cases involving only children.
