Webster County hits 100 COVID-19 cases

4 more deaths, nursing home outbreaks in Buena Vista County

Webster County has entered triple-digits with its total of COVID-19 cases, passing 100 on Tuesday.

Webster County Public Health confirmed 100 cases. The Iowa Department of Public health has tallied 101, as of Tuesday at 3 p.m. Of those, 75 have recovered.

The cases fall into the following age categories:

• Children (age 0-17): 8

• Adult (age 18-40): 53

• Middle age adult (age 41-60): 26

• Older adult (age 61-80): 12

• Elderly (age 81+): 1

Buena Vista County added another four deaths to its toll Tuesday, bringing it to 10, as its total number of positives surpassed 1,600 (about 8% of the population.)

Buena Vista County Public Health said Tuesday that three positive COVID-19 residents were identified at nursing homes in both Newell and Albert City.
