Otho July 4 parade will go on

OTHO — Otho’s annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks show are still set to happen on Independence Day, according to City Clerk Sherry Simmons.

“We’re still doing our parade, but with social distancing,” she said. “No candy is being thrown.

The parade will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on July 4.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Otho Betterment Committee has decided to cancel the kids’ games and activities usually held in the city park. The Otho Fire Department has also decided to cancel its pancake breakfast.

The fireworks show will begin at dusk on July 4.
