City updates its outdoor recreation restrictions

The city of Fort Dodge has released a list of areas and opportunities that will be open and those that will remain closed, effective June 1.

The following areas remain closed: basketball courts, Fort Dodge Soccer Association soccer fields, reservations for cabins rentals, drinking fountains, Citizens Central, reservations for open shelters, open swim at Rosedale Rapids Aquatic Center, the splashpad, aquacise and water walking.

These areas are open: playgrounds and open shelters (may be used on a first-come, first-served basis).

The following are updated programming opportunities: high school softball and baseball games start June 15 at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex, batting cage at Harlan Rogers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, lap swim starting June 6 at Rosedale Rapids, adult golf leagues began Monday at Lakeside Golf Course, tournament and golf outings starting June 7 at Lakeside Golf Course, adult softball leagues starting soon, youth track skills camp, softball and baseball, swim lessons.
