MIDAS Council to suspend all transit services

The MIDAS Council of Governments announced on Monday that it will temporarily suspend all transit services for its two transit systems: the Dodger Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the Regional Transit Authority, which serves the six-county region of Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Hamilton, Webster and Calhoun counties.

Previously, MIDAS Council of Governments had reduced DART services by suspending fixed routes, while still operating paratransit services, single-person bus rides and the Prestage work shuttle. Effective Wednesday, those services will be suspended as well.

For the DART services, paratransit rides will only be provided for persons needing to go to the dialysis center.

MIDAS had also previously reduced RTA transit services to one demand response bus per county. The RTA services will also be suspended effective Wednesday.

MIDAS Council of Governments said it tentatively plans to re-open all transit services by May 1.
