City announces yard waste information
The city of Fort Dodge has announced that the yard waste site at Central Garage will remain closed until further notice. Curbside yard waste pickup begins April 3.
To encourage social isolation and smart shopping, orange stickers are not required until further notice.
Requests need to be submitted via Connect Fort Dodge by noon on Thursdays. Citizens can access Connect Fort Dodge on the city’s website (www.fortdodgeiowa.org) or by downloading the Connect Fort Dodge app on their smart phone.
Instructions can be found on the city’s website. Citizens without internet access may contact Public Works no later than noon on Thursdays to schedule their yard waste pickup. Please make sure to leave all necessary information if leaving a voicemail.
Please remember to use Kraft paper bags.
Bags need to be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. Yard waste placed in plastic bags will not be picked up.
Tree branches must be in bundles no larger than 18 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length and must be no larger than 4 inches in diameter.
Weight limit on bundles and yard waste bags is 50 pounds. Orange stickers are not required until further notice.
There will be no curbside pickup during holiday weeks.
