Fort Dodge council to consider budgets, engineering work

Proposed budgets and a pair of engineering contracts are on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday.

There will be a budget workshop at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. At that time, the elected officials will review the proposed budget for Dodger Area Rapid Transit and general administration. They will also discuss the overview of the general fund, which is the account that pays for police and fire protection, recreation, the library, the Blanden Memorial Art Museum and dozens of other government functions.

The council’s regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building. During that session, the council will consider awarding a contract for a master plan that will outline needed improvements to the city’s storm sewers. It will also consider a second engineering contract for designing water main improvements for the city’s northwest side.
