Main Street Matters to discuss downtown safety

The safety of downtown Fort Dodge will be discussed at Bloomers On Central on Tuesday.

Main Street Fort Dodge is hosting Main Street Matters at 5:30 p.m. The event, located at 900 Central Ave., is open to the public.

The city’s camera program and the rejuvenation of the downtown business watch program will be discussed, according to Laura Eastwood, who chairs the Main Street Mattters public sessions.

Officer Joelyn Johnson, of the Fort Dodge Police Department, will answer questions about that program.

“The city, Main Street and police force are collaborating on security measures in the downtown,” Eastwood said. “Our Main Street Matters gathering will inform the public, business and property owners, and residents of the efforts in place and future.”
