Expansion at landfill in Fort Dodge is moving forward
Construction is moving slowly but surely for the new landfill cell construction to serve north central Iowa.
The North Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agency received brief updates regarding the Phase 2 Expansion Project from HLW Engineering Group of Story City. The agency approved a payment to Rasch Construction of Fort Dodge for just over $165,000 on Monday.
Construction, which started last year at the prompt of an old cell filling up, is nearing completion after delays caused by wet spring and fall weather, said Chairman Travis Goedken. The project should be substantially completed by the end of the month.
