City Manager Fierke gets contract extension
City Manager David Fierke received a four-year contract extension from the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday.
The contract extension sets his base salary at $160,764.
It also includes a $600 per month car allowance.
The contract extension was approved unanimously without discussion.
Fierke has been the city manager since 2006. He is the first full-time city manager in Fort Dodge.
In a 2005 referendum, the voters approved a new city charter that created the manager position. David Haggard, a former superintendent of the Fort Dodge Community School District, served as a part-time interim city manager for several months until Fierke was hired.
