Two-car accident

Two cars that collided sit at the intersection of Fifth Avenue North and North 16th Street Wednesday morning. According to the Fort Dodge Police Department accident report, a 1999 Buick Park Avenue, driven by Crystal Henderson, of Fort Dodge, was going south on North 16th Street. She told the officer that as she approached the intersection at Fifth Avenue North she didn’t see anyone. But as Henderson drove through, she said she was hit by a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Josie Blankenburg, 16, of Fort Dodge. Blankenburg told the officer that she was westbound on Fifth Avenue North when she was hit by Henderson’s car. The report stated that both cars were disabled in the collision. Henderson was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center after complaining of leg pain. Blankenburg was cited for failure to yield the right of way. The Fort Dodge Fire Department also responded to the scene.
