Small fire burns chicken coop
A chicken coop caught fire in Fort Dodge Tuesday night.
The fire at 933 S. 24th St. ruined the chicken coop and melted the vinyl siding on a nearby garage. Four chickens were killed, according to Fire Department Lt. Jeff Hill.
Hill said a heat lamp used to keep the chickens warm apparently caused the fire.
The fire was reported at about 8 p.m. Police and firefighters were on the scene for about a half hour.
