Growth Alliance award nominations due

Nominations for the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance’s Small Business of the Year Award and Rookie of the Year Award are due by Friday.

The Small Business of the Year Award is awarded to an established small business that has been in existence for five or more years. The Rookie of the Year Award is awarded to a new business established within the past five years, or a new owner of an established business. To qualify, a business must be a Growth Alliance member and have 55 or fewer employees.

The Small Business of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards, along with the Catalyst Award, will be presented at the Growth Alliance’s annual dinner on March 5 at the Best Western Starlite Village Inn & Suites. This year’s speaker will be Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

The Catalyst Award is the pinnacle award given each year by the Growth Alliance and celebrates the “inspiration, charity, wisdom, unifier, and breath of life” of a professional in the community.

In past years, the award alternated between male and female recipients, but the award will now be given to the most qualified individual. Catalyst nomination forms will be accepted until 1 p.m. Feb. 20.

Nomination forms are available on the Growth Alliance website at www.greaterfortdodge.com/awards.
