Credit union land sale on FD agenda

A real estate sale that will lead to the construction of a new credit union building is on Monday’s agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council.

The council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

At that time, the council will consider selling city-owned property in the 400 block of Second Avenue South to Fort Dodge Family Credit Union for $76,000.

Credit union leaders plan to construct a $1.23 million building on that site to replace the current one on Central Avenue.

Also on Monday, the council will consider awarding a contract for the reconstruction of Second Avenue North between 18th and 22nd streets. Fort Dodge Asphalt submitted the lone bid of about $1.2 million.

The City Council will also act on the appointment of Jamie Anderson as human resources director.

Anderson has been employed by the city for 10 years, and has worked on personnel and human rights issues.

She has been the acting director since November.
