Fisher to succeed Schnurr at First American

The board of directors of First American Bank and Stark Bank Group Ltd. has named John A. Fisher to succeed Thomas G. Schnurr as chief executive officer and president.

Schnurr plans to retire in August but will remain a director of the bank and holding company.

The appointment of Fisher to succeed Schnurr is subject to regulatory approval.

Schnurr has served as CEO of First American Bank since 1999.

Fisher was named First American Bank’s president in 2012 and is a 23-year veteran of the banking industry. He is a native of Ottumwa.

First American Bank is a privately owned community bank, headquartered in Fort Dodge.
