Women’s conference to be held at Lizard Creek Ranch

Fort Dodge area churches and Kinship Christian Radio will be co-sponsoring the Refresh Women’s Conference on Feb. 29 at Lizard Creek Ranch & Conference Center, 1762 Johnson Ave.

The conference will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and lunch will be served.

“It’s basically to ‘refresh’ women,” said Ann Halbur, a member of the organizing team. “Kind of ignite their faith for the rest of the year, for their family, their community and their church.”

The conference will feature Christian speaker and worship leader Gwen Smith.

“She does teaching sessions and worship,” Halbur explained.

Smith is also an author, founder of Girlfriends in God and hosts the Graceologie podcast.

Wings of Refuge, an Iowa-based and Christ-centered organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sex trafficking, will also have a presentation at the Refresh Conference.

All are welcome at the conference, Halbur said.

“It’s non-denominational,” she said. “It’s for all women, any age.”

Tea Thyme will be catering lunch. The event organizers request that registrations be submitted by Wednesday to account for food. Tickets are $25 and registration can be found at www.gwensmith.net/refresh.

Halbur encourages women from the local community to check out the conference on Feb. 29.

“We all need refreshing,” she said. “Life throws a lot of things at us and women from all denominations can unite and help each other.”
