First Covenant Choir to perform Christmas cantata

Members of the First Covenant Church Choir rehearse Wednesday for their upcoming Christmas Cantata “There Is A Great Joy Coming.” Performances are at 5 p.m. today and at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. First Covenant is located at 201 Ave. H which is just north of Iowa Central on U.S. Highway 169.

The First Covenant Choir, a 40-member group of vocalists at First Covenant Church in Fort Dodge, will present its Christmas cantata ”There is a Great Joy Coming” this weekend.

The performances will be at 5 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 201 Ave. H.

Featured songs will include ”Run, Shepherds!” ”We Fall Down,” ”Sleep Little King,” and ”Amen! Tell it on the Mountain,” and others.

Narration will be provided by Lee Husske, Tim Anderson, Jim Byson, Laura Helmus, Joni Kruse, Denise Halverson, Rev. Allen Redenius and Rev. Anthony Clerkin.

Soloists for the cantata are Maddy Vinchattle, Larry Dowd, Micha Flaherty, Lisa Flaherty, Don Bergman and Tim Anderlik.

Accompanists will be Brady O’Brien and Lisa Flaherty on piano and Dean Davis on drums.

The First Covenant Choir is directed by Armona Redenius.
